I agree with the above review: it has a lot of quirks, but I do like the coffee it makes. I replaced a broken one with the same model, but in the oiled bronze. However, the bronze finish chips off of the carafe in the dishwasher, so the next time I'd go back to the steel carafe.
As for the grinder sticking, I emailed Cuisinart about this, and they recommended greasing it. when it starts to stick again, which happens annually, I just put some vegetable shortening around the bottom, just a small amount, and it works.

Thanks for the "grease" comment. My grinder has been stuck for quite some time. I tried 3 in 1 oil with limited success. I'll see how other methods work. Other than the stuck grinder (and the cleaning, of course!) This has been a great pot.

My grind/brew maker has all the same problems mentioned. Hard to pull the grinder cutter assy off the shaft,too much cleanup time,etc.
My biggest complaint is that moisture gathers within the grind plastic area,and thus the ground coffee sticks to the wet assy sides and doesnt get to the screen funnel. Bad design,it justs allows the ground coffee to continue caking up and not getting to the paper filter to be dripped on by the hot water.
Also, I misplaced my manual and cant program it. The last several months,I have to stand there and keep activating the buttons,because it shuts down prematurely

Have had numerous problems with the Cuisinart DGB-600 coffee maker. It leaks, it will not turn on to make coffee. Called Cuisinart customer service and they told me that there is nothing they can do.

I too have this same problem and need to purchase a new coffee maker soon. I like the grind and brew design and would like to buy something similar. I do not want to try a Cuisinart again, any suggestions?

I'm on my second unit and, like the first one, it leaks. Same identical problem that renders the unit unusable. I thought it was a quirk on with the first one going bad but now, the second one is also bad.

NEEDLESS TO SAY, CUISINART DOES NOT HAVE A CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

They have a phone number for a department called customer service but this goes to someone who tells you we can't help. This phone number is to a NO CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

If you don't mind your coffee maker only lasting a couple of years then Cuisinart might be for you.

Well, I should have read the reviews better. The MODEL DGB-600BC coffee makers is poor designed and they need to return to the drawing board. My biggest complaint is the weakness in the brew.
The reason for this is because the grinder has a grate that allows grinds of a certain size to pass down the shoot to the brewing basket. So what you end up with is mostly all large grinds. The finer grinds that help produce the boldness of the coffee are left behind stuck to the walls of the grinding chamber. You end up flushing all that taste down the drain when you spend 15 minutes washing all the hardware out after each brew.

The craft is another poor design. Can you say Heavy , clumsy, and slow pouring?

On the positive side the unit has a cool look and is well built. The design is the weak part.

That about covers it. Oh yea one more thing. The price is way out of line with the design.

use more beans for stronger brew.

The problem is if you use more beans, it stops up the coffee filter, overflows and you have coffee all over the floor and counter. This thing is a piece of junk!

This coffee maker sucks . Every morning the basket pops out and coffee and grinds go every where trying to find out what to do? We have had this coffee maker for about two years. It has just started doing this .Is there any way or anything to do about this problems. Is there anyone that knows what to do about this problem? please get back to me about this .

Recommend that you warm the carafe before brewing if possible. Obviously, this won't work if you are using the timer feature. In this case, reco keeping the item in a warmer spot prior to brewing.

I, too am having problems with water leaking on the couter after about 1 years use. I clean the coffee pot every night before setting up brew for the next day. I have cleaned out the filter area and replaced with a new filter, worked for about 2 days and started leaking again. This is my second Cuisinart Grind and Brew because I do love the fact that I wake up to fresh ground coffee in the morning. However, this product does have its issues. I will try the vinegar and see if that works, if not I think I am going to have to find another coffee pot to buy, maybe a different brand this time
